Vintage Steiff Original Teddy Bear – 12″ Tall – 1950’s Era – Gold Mohair

Vintage Steiff Original Teddy Bear
– 12″ tall standing, almost 10 1/2″ sitting
– sadly no ID but he is still sturdy with with a lot of his gold, lush mohair
– 1950’s era
– excelsior stuffed
– brown/black eyes
– black floss stitched nose/mouth
– wool felt paw pads
– 5 way jointed
– non-working squeaker
– replaced ribbon (in a light blue color close to the color Steiff used; ribbon is not vintage however)
– very good vintage condition: there is overall play wear as seen in the pictures;
– two things to point out: on the left foot there is a small hole at the seamline (a talented hand-sewer could repair this by moving the entire seam about 3 mm) although it is not immediately noticeable because excelsior is the same color as the paw pads; there is a smudge which discolors a small portion of the distal right arm paw pad (I thought it was a shadow at first)
– Still a very handsome, good-sized teddy in the desirable Gold color at a reasonable price
