Steiff Mini Millenium 5xJointed Teddy Bear All ID Part Of The Decade Series

This little teddy bear (“Teddybӓr” in German) is a miniature version of the 43-cm Millenium (“Jahrtausend”) bear Steiff issued as a limited edition in 1999. He is part of the “Decade” (“Jahrzehnte”) series of minibears Steiff produced for Steiff Club members commemorating notable bears that were made in various decades.

A couple of examples, besides the big Millenium Teddy Bear, of bears from the Decade series were a Petsy with the year “1930” printed below his name on his chest tag and a Zotty with the year “1960” printed below his name on his chest tag.

This little guy was made in 2002 and 2003. I believe, but I am not certain, that all the decade bears were made in the early 2000s. There are pictures of all of them in the little white booklet whose cover you see in my various images. Teddy’s EAN is 029134, as you can see in my second image composite.

Teddy is in excellent condition, with, perhaps, some all-over thinning in his mohair, although I believe what you see here is the way he was made. He is stuffed with “new material,” which is softer and springier than excelsior, and which makes it almost impossible for him to stand on his own. I am cheating by hiding a support behind the black background in my pictures. Teddy’s catalogued size is 14 cm, and he is exactly in accord with the catalogue, about 5 1/2 inches tall.

Teddy’s ribbon is original and, like the rest of him, it is in excellent condition. His chest tag is crisp, with the slight factory flaw of its being slightly off center. 😉
