Clemens Musical “Ball Fox” With ID – Made Of Mohair – Plays Lullaby – West Germany

Vintage Clemens Musical “Ball Fox”
–From Clemens-Spieltiere, a company in Germany making teddy bears and toys for 70 years.
— This darling Red Fox “Ball Fox” plays a lullaby when you pull the string on the back of his neck!
– he retains his Clemens “necklet” a triangular plastic chest tag with Clemens Spieltiere Made in W Germany on one side and Clemens Spieltiere Toys-Animals on the other; the red and yellow tag is attached with a blue cord, a tradition it continues to this day
– he is 18cm/7″ tall
– he is made of copper-red and white mohair, with a tail made of a woven synthetic plush
– he has white and black googly plastic eyes
– he has a black floss embroidered nose, clear filament whiskers and an open felt-lined mouth
– he’s unjointed
– He is in very good condition with the exception with an area of mohair loss on his back at the base of his tail – the tail has to be moved to see it and the fabric under the mohair is the same color so it’s not that noticeable
– I’ve come across three of these “Ball-foxes” through the years. He’s a duplicate in my collection but the only musical one I’ve seen.
– I believe he is from the late 1970’s based on ID; incidentally, Steiff made similar lullaby playing pieces, mostly plush baby toys, during this era with the same pull string with ball on the end configuration
– He’s a very cute Kit – very nice for a fox collector, vintage stuffed animal collector or to enjoy with a baby or young child; I would not recommend him as a crib toy
